Works with Star CloudPRNT printers

Online orders print in your kitchen. In real time.

A new order on your website prints on the line within seconds. The ticket shows the customer's name, the order type, every item, the modifiers and the notes, laid out for the cooks. Nobody has to watch a screen.

One printer, about 15 minutes to set up, once.

How it works

New orders go straight to your printer.

The printer checks in with 88 Restaurants over your Wi-Fi every few seconds and picks up whatever is waiting. Nothing on your network has to be opened up for it, and there is no computer in the middle that can be asleep, logged out or on the wrong tab.

  1. 01

    An order is placed

A customer orders pickup, delivery or catering on your website and pays. The order lands on your orders screen the way it does today.

  2. 02

    The printer asks for it

A ticket is queued for your restaurant. On its next check-in the printer sees it, fetches it and tells us when it has printed, so a ticket is never printed twice or lost.

  3. 03

    The ticket prints

Within a few seconds the ticket is on the line, cut and ready. If the printer was off or out of paper, the ticket waits and prints when it is back.

What prints

A ticket written for the line.

The ticket is laid out the way a kitchen reads one. The customer's name is printed large so a bag can be matched to a person at a glance, and every choice the customer made is under the item it belongs to.

  • Customer name in large type, with their phone number
  • Order type: takeout, delivery or catering, and the pickup time when one was chosen
  • Each item with its quantity, the modifiers and any special instructions
  • The order total, the time it was placed and the order number

Print any order again from the orders screen with one click, for a ticket that got wet or a delivery driver who wants their own copy.

Setup

About 15 minutes, start to finish.

There is nothing to install and no confusing setup. The printer joins your Wi-Fi, you paste one link into it, and from then on it prints on its own.

  1. 1

Put the printer on your Wi-Fi

Plug it in, load a roll of paper and use Star's free phone app to join it to your network. A private network with a password is best; open public Wi-Fi gets crowded.

  2. 2

Copy your printer link from 88 Restaurants

Under Tools, Orders & Menus and Notifications, turn on Receipt Printer and save. A link appears that is unique to your restaurant. It is how the printer knows which orders are yours.

  3. 3

Paste the link into the printer

In the same Star app, open the CloudPRNT settings, paste the link and save. Then press Send Test Print in 88 Restaurants. A test ticket comes out within a couple of seconds, and you are done.

If you would rather do it together, send us your restaurant name and printer model and we will walk through it with you. Most setups take one short call. The full walkthrough is in our cloud printing guide.
